2010 is the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. In honor of the Centennial Year and the patriotic spirit of the Boy Scouts of American through those years, the George Rogers Clark District (Floyd, Harrison, and Crawford Counties) of the Lincoln Heritage Council is creating a Boy Scout Honor Guard unit.

This GRC Honor Guard will consist of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts who apply for membership in this voluntary unit and meet the Honor Guard’s selection criteria to represent the finest Boy Scout traditions of discipline, appearance, and competence. The GRC Honor Guard will be the embodiment of the highest Scouting standards the BSA has to offer.
The Honor Guard will perform a wide range of ceremonies and special services including funeral honors, Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades, retirement ceremonies and color guards. The Honor Guard members agree to perform Honor Guard duties two days a month, attend appropriate training courses, and meet established guidelines in the GRC Honor Guard hand book, including the commitment to dress code guidelines.
